How to get cheaper flights by using a VPN<\/h2>\n

1. Ensure you are using a fresh session.<\/b>
\nFlight and travel companies use cookies to see when you\u2019re looking for flights and will bump up your prices accordingly.\u00a0 I\u2019ve discussed my personal setup in the past, however I use Firefox with an auto-destructing cookies add-on which wipes my cookies 5 seconds after a tab is closed (\u201cThis message will self destruct in 5 seconds\u2026\u201d Mission Impossible style).<\/p>\n

2. Use the destination<\/u> country. <\/b>
\nThere are 2 possible ways to secure a discount that I am aware of.\u00a0 I have heard that some VPN customers select a low income country as the VPN server choice, but I am unaware of the actual effectiveness.<\/p>\n

The method that I utilise is using the destination country (so if I was flying from the UK to the US, I would choose a US server).<\/p>\n

And because pictures paint a thousand words, this was my result for a flight using Expedia from the UK, 1 Adult, Business Class, September 11 till September 15:<\/p>\n

No VPN:<\/strong>
\n\"no<\/a><\/p>\n

Using a VPN connected through my destination country:<\/strong>
\n\"save<\/a><\/p>\n

This is for the exact same plane, same date and same parameters. The only difference was that I used PIA to connect to the destination country in the second example, dropping the price from\u00a0 \u00a35093 to \u00a31676, a savings of over 67%!<\/b><\/p>\n
