And it\u2019s not just the movie website. You will find several others that want to know your real location. If you allow them to access your location, they will get to know about your IP address and device details. If you are privacy conscious, you might not want to reveal this data.<\/p>\n

By default, browsers such as Chrome will ask you before allowing a website to access this data. However, if your browser doesn\u2019t ask for your permission, you can change it.<\/p>\n

You can disable the geolocation tracking feature to ensure such websites don\u2019t get to know about your real location.<\/p>\n

How to disable geolocation in major browsers<\/h2>\n

Disable Geolocation in Google Chrome<\/h3>\n

  1. Click on the three dots on the top right corner of Chrome.<\/li>\n
  2. Select Settings.<\/li>\n
  3. Click on Advanced and visit the Privacy and security section.<\/li>\n
  4. Click on Content Settings and go to the Location section.<\/li>\n
  5. Find the switch that says \u201cAsk before Accessing\u201d and make sure it\u2019s on.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Disable Geolocation in Mozilla Firefox<\/h3>\n

    1. Type about:config in the address bar of Firefox.<\/li>\n
    2. Firefox will show you a warning \u201cThis will void your warranty\u201d. Accept it.<\/li>\n
    3. Search for geo.enabled in the search bar.<\/li>\n
    4. Select that option and change its value from true to false.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Disable Geolocation in Opera<\/h3>\n

      1. Click on the Opera logo on the top left corner of the Opera window.<\/li>\n
      2. Visit the Advanced tab and click on Content Settings.<\/li>\n
