    The app still requires DNS to pull our server list, as it pulls from our central servers.

    Does it need to pull the list at every start? 
    This question comes up because I'm going to a Walled country next week.

    The system pulls a list every 10-15 minutes to provide the best servers possible.

    Can we please get a new version of the PIA app for Android?

    The current version 1.1.4 crashes at the most in-opportune times. I cant really trust that it will work when I'm not monitoring it.

    The settings that I'm using are:
    Use TCP
    Internet Killswitch
    AES-128
    SHA1
    RSA-2048
    1-click Connect
    Connect on Boot

    I'd be very happy and grateful to try an updated PIA Android app.

    The PIA app does not work with KitKat Android 4.4.2  the app starts but it stops working randomly or it shows connected but when I check my IP it shows cellphone provider IP so its not being routed properly.

    The change log is on google play:

    "Rotated all client CA certificates"

    So it would appear to be a response to Heartbleed.

    Version 1.1.5 does NOT work on my phone with Android 4.3, please fix it.....and I want the old apk so I can revert back to the previous version

    would be way more helpful if you explained what are the symptoms when you try to run the app, or if it runs what happens when you try to connect.  

    Email them so that they can troubleshoot it.

    Never mind, uninstall and re-installing the app fixes it.

    I can't seem to select a server. I can tap on the "Server Selection" dropdown, and the menu opens, but no matter what I select there, it always shows "Automatic server selection" back on the connect screen. I'm using a Moto X. Any suggestions?

    hey sqfreak, are you using Lastpass?  Their new method to input passwords in apps conflicts with PIA, if you disable that part of Lastpass then it should work again.

    1. Route local network directly (so internet connections go through VPN but I can still access the local network over WiFi)
    2. Route tethered devices through VPN (Wifi, Bluetooth or USB)
    3. Shortcut support - connect with specified set of options (server, TCP/UDP, ports...) through a shortcut
    4. and/or some way to do 3. through tasker so I can automatically connect to vpn with required settings automatically when I'm connected to a specified hotspot, etc.
      1. Tasker plugin would be great...

    Anyway, those would really put the app over the top for me. I realize some of those features may require root, but I trust you...

    Seems that the app is now not working on Android 4.4.3, apparently it's an issue that Google has not fixed.

    Has this issue been seen in testing?

    4.4.3 user here, noticed PIA is broken as well. Will be downgrading to 4.4.2.

    Hi guys could someone pls comirm if I need the app and also set up vpn settings on my phone aswell.
    If only one which one is best.

    Not 100% sure what you're asking but, the app alone should suffice for your needs.

    I will confirm that this application is now functioning on Android 4.4.3 (it previously wasn't, as others have reported).
    EDIT: It also works on Android 4.4.4

    Was hospitalized, hospital offered free wifi, 50MB up - down ... but immensely crippled.
    Only the basic ports opened ( afaik most i tried are blocked, couldn't even reach my home server )

    The app gave me the connection to NL-VPN on port 80 & 443, and I happily used xbmc streaming & torrentmovie's like popcorntime ;) on my phone & nexus7
    The speed was sóó good, i even hated to leave the hospital ... if only the food was that good ...

    Well spend investment, will be a happy user for a long time ...

    Hey omer, what are your settings for your 4.4.4 device?

    I have version 1.1.5 of this app installed and it connects, but I can't access the internet from any app I try to use like the Play Store or Dolphin browser. I get a "Network Error. This site could not be reached.", but when I Disconnect the PIA app, everything is normal and I can access the web. I tried switching ports and using TCP, but still no internet connection. I also installed TUN.ko Installer and still nothing. I'm running Android 4.4.4 LiquidSmooth on Samsung Galaxy S4 Sprint.

    Update:
    I installed the same version of PIA with all default settings on a device that is running Android Revolution HD Android JB 4.1.2 and it runs smoothly so I guess it's hit or miss with devices with 4.4.4 according to all the posts prior to mine.

    How hard would it be for PIA to add in an option for the Android app to use custom DNS servers, instead of using the PIA-provided resolvers?  I would like that option to be added to the app.

    Both uploaded by me just now. Clean copies from Play Store I downloaded this morning. Latest 1.1.5 version.

    I wouldn't bother , I'm on 4.4.2 ( galaxy s5 ) and the system kills the app almost as soon as you leave the gui .

    I run no task killers or battery savers and just like every other app I use , android kills it moments after leaving the app .

    with the kill switch enabled it's impossible to use wifi or 4g and without it you are surfing naked , either way your screwed .
