omni .catcher look, blackvpn attacking pia on reddit, implying pia is vulnerable to heartbleed!!

What if your VPN logs your real IP address via their website or support systems? The police could come with a court order and say "we know this person with email [email protected] has an account with you. What is their real IP address?"

Amazing how many "no logs" VPNs are actually using Google Analytics on their website and sharing your IP and purchases with Google :p

Every VPN needs to keep track of the number of simultaneous connections per account, otherwise with an unlimited number of simultaneous connections the whole internet could all just share the one account.

So when you connect to your VPN that information goes into a central database. Is that a "log"?

Is that information really deleted when you log out? How do you know?

         Looks like FUD at work.

Is there something I'm missing? I use PIA and only recommend it because its easy/fast. Is there some sort of security issue because if there is I'd switch immediately

Did they update their VPN configs and issue new keys after the Heartbleed bug? Most other VPNs did.

You really need to be quiet. And stop spreading lies. Pia was never vulnerable to any bug. Their servers were patched against the bug last year you idiot. You should be worrying about your own logging vpn service, not about pia.

In the second thread, he is implying that pia is still vulnerable to heartbleed. what a bunch of crap. moderator lugh allows that stuff, but if someone tries to defend pia, he will delete their comments. sad.

  • Yeah that guy uses any opportunity to smear PIA. I wonder if he is paid by blackVPN for that specific purpose. Did you see him get called out for his logging?

    https://www.reddit.com/r/VPN/comments/3028a0/how_can_you_trust_a_usa_based_vpn_with_the_feds/

    Why didn't you include blackVPN?

Because of the logging policy. So far the list is restricted to "no logs" vpn providers.

There is also another thread on the r/vpn page where blackvpn is complaining that he feels he is being punished for his logging policy,,,,see next comment. :

Yeah we feel we're being punished for our honesty.

A certain VPN provider placed highly on this list ratted out one of their customers without even a court order yet they were placed higher on the TorrentFreak list while were pushed down to page 3.... simply because if our "logging" policy. Meanwhile we were under pressure from UK and HK police to divulge information yet we held firm and let our lawyers resolve the issue quietly.

I'll repeat what I said in another thread...

All that we "log" is the timestamp of connection and the shared IP address of our VPN server that was used at the time. That IP address will also be shared by multiple users at the same time since our Privacy VPNs only have one IP per server. We thought this would be the best way to deter peadophiles and terrorists from abusing our service without needing to resort to monitoring our customers traffic in any way. We do not keep activity or traffic logs and we never will

Mr black vpn,,, the point is,,,you log enough damn information to be able to identify individual users of your logging service! people see you for what you are.  no activity or traffic logs do not matter,,when you're logging enough other information to be able to identify individual users of your service.

           is this guy stupid?!?!?!?

  • That fool thinks he can defend his logging just like HMA did. In other words, they offer zero anonymity. I guess he is jealous of PIAs ability to run a zero knowledge system.
  • He tries to defending his logging by saying that he does not monitor his customers traffic or use age. That doesn't matter.. because he still logs and can identify individual users. He is stupid... or thinks we are stupid enough to believe him.

I called him out on his logging.

Do you realize that what you just said contradicts itself. You claim that a users real IP address is never logged by your system, yet you can provide the real IP from those same logs to be used against terrorists/hackers. Sounds like HMA.
