Any update on possibly getting the configuration files for vanilla openvpn? I'm using an ARM-based Linux box for my VPN needs, so using a PIA-made x86 package is not an option.

Sadly not yet. And although as I understand it, OpenVPN itself now has AES-128 and AES-256, the PIA servers do not yet support the upgrade for OpenVPN, although the x86 compiled PIA client has them, so the servers clearly support it. It is just the OpenVPN server side that does not yet support it.
This is something I and many here have been bugging them about for a while now. Believe me that we will all celebrate when there is either an updated OpenVPN server config or an ARM compile of the PIA client.
I may have to save up and buy a CubieTruck to run the ARM client if they ever make one. :!!
@tardisonline: We have already about 5 threads about this, I'd rather not make a new one. The last one I invested some time in, posting background infos and such, before it was quickly moved to the second or third page to make space for more threads on configuring utorrent.
Look, let's just talk like two adults here. If there's any reason why the company hasn't published the advanced instructions for almost a year, at least tell us about those. Then at least we can decide wether we want to keep waiting, or move to other providers that offer more options today. Or offer a limited beta if you're unsure it will work for all customers (I suggested that in the thread I linked above).
Just don't advertise and promise all those different features when some of those features can't be used together.

I will get a reply from the appropriate team soon.

Have you heard back from any team? I just online chatted with tech support, and she had no idea of any progress to get OpenVPN to work with other encryption methods other than the default Blowfish

I too am very interested in being able to use the higher levels of encryption on windows 8 whilst using the Viscosity client.
