question about PIA servers and datacenters, lrryie,omni,,pia can anyone help me understand this?

My understanding is that PIA doesn't use virtual servers,,they use physical servers in the datacenters and they own those physical servers.

When Toronto went from 1,000 to 715 servers, did those 285 physical servers just continue to sit there in the datacenter? How does that work?

    PIA does not own the servers. They are rented from the data enter and they get reused and resold to another customer or decommissioned and scrapped depending on age.

    1. Power off a server.
    2. Put it in a box.
    3. Ship it elsewhere.

    Simple and easy.

    How many servers does PIA have altogether? 3617? Not much of a loss.

    My worry are that the anti pia reddit people like vikingvpn monitor pia's server count and look for any reason to attack pia by claiming pia is losing servers they must be losing customers.

    If PIA lost 99% of their customers overnight, they would still be one of the bigger VPNs out there, and a serious threat to those clowns.

    im worried about Derek zimmer over there at vikingvpn,,,,im worried he is monitoring pia's server count. whenever the server count goes down im thinking he might use that as an attack point to claim pia is losing customers.

    Your 'worry' is unfounded and nonsense.
    I disagree respectfully. Vikingvpn would use any excuse he can think of to try to attack pia and make pia look bad. I am a loyal pia customer.
