Unable to install PIA - Windows 7
Hi,
I've just purchased PIA, and when I've tried to install the program, a cmd window pops up for ~1 sec, closes and then nothing. I've followed the instructions regarding running the program as administrator, but the same thing happens. I've noticed there's been 1-2 threads posted regarding this issue, and I've tried their suggestions (Clicking "Unblock" at the bottom the General tab, deleting the exe and redownloading) but to no avail, and it didn't seem like the threads were resolved either.
Running the exe in cmd brings up the following:
C:/Users/<USER>/AppData/Local/Temp/ocr9A99.tmp/src/build/pia_manager/lib/pia_c
ommon.rb:208:in `log': uninitialized constant PiaCommon::PiaManager (NameError)
from C:/Users/<USER>/AppData/Local/Temp/ocr9A99.tmp/src/build/pia_mana
ger/lib/pia_win32.rb:42:in `message_box'
from C:/Users/<USER>/AppData/Local/Temp/ocr9A99.tmp/src/installer_win_
with_data.rb:176:in `<main>'
If anyone has any ideas, it'd be much appreciated.

-win 7 SP1 x64
-no AV or Malware, win Defender disabled.
-3GB ram
-RAID1 250GB HDD
-Intel Core 2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz
-Latest updates.
when executed normally, or in admin mode, I command prompt opens for 1 second then disappears. Open an Admin command prompt, cd to the PIA executable directory, and run installer_win.exe. I get the following error:
FATAL ERROR: Failed to create file 'C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Temp\ocr956B.tmp\lib\ruby\gems\1.9.1\gems\windows-pr-1.2.2\lib\windows\security.rb'
I contacted support and was told that something was blocking it's install. I checked Event Viewer. There are no errors or warnings related to the PIA software. I use no AV or malware software. Anything inherent in windows has been disabled in services.msc. I feel like I am unable to get any support for a piece of software that would GREATLY benefit me and my lifestyle.
SOMEONE, please help?!?!
I paid for a year, and cannot use this. I'm very disappointed.

I added the € since it is a non English character. I am not asking you to tell us your Username. I am simply asking if it contains any characters that an American keyboard would not be able to enter without using the ALT-codes. For instance, the € sign is made by holding ALT and typing 0128 on the numpad then releasing ALT.
If this is the problem, then I fear there is only two options. You can use OpenVPN just fine, or you can make a separate user account on your Windows system with a plain name.
Also beware using some of those ALT codes can cause weird things to happen. For instance I tried ALT+127 and it brings me to the Firefox home site. No idea why though.
please how doyou resolve this, having same issue now
