still worried about the missing canada servers

HEY PIA, when is Canada getting back its 900 or so servers?

  • I heard a rumor that PIA will sell off all servers but one. It will be in the USA and will use only 56 bit DES as the cipher, no authentication, and all usernames and passwords will be sent as plain text. Furthermore it will have logs enabled and it will be owned and operated by Zimmer.

Lol. You crack me up UBob. :D

Just give them time. They will get everything sorted.

Have you looked at the Unified Browser Profile thread I made? I know you do not use Firefox, but I do not use Chrome. Someone needs to make one for Chrome. Perhaps while waiting on Toronto to have another million servers you could spend some time planning a profile to help people blend in despite using a backdoored browser?

And before catcher749 comes in and says it is not backdoored, let me explain that WebRTC is a backdoor by definition, and the Chrome "fix" for it is a fucking joke.

But use whatever browser you damned well please.
  • There are plenty of "backdoor" 0days exploited in Firefox every day.

True. But do you really think Mozilla is feeding you a trap so they can sell you out? Google clearly intends to, but Mozilla seems to have simply tried to do too many things at once. They are indeed fixing the problems, and that is more than I can say for Chrome.
  • hey Omni windows 10 apparently has a new browser to replace IE,called edge I think. what do you know,or, think about it???
  • if a unified browser profile means privacy and security that's a good thing. I am not too technical so I will need further explanation as to how it would work.
  • I don't use Chrome, I just consider the Chromium code robust, which is why I would consider SlimJet if you are looking for an alternative to Firefox.

Sorry for the delay. I honestly know nothing more than the name and that it is built off IE code and then renamed for no reason I can understand.

If MS does not pull their heads out of their asses and either fix Windows 10 or make another version of Windows that is not a spyware rental OS then I will not advance beyond Windows 7. So it is doubtful I can ever tell you anything more than you already know. (On this subject at least.)
if a unified browser profile means privacy and security that's a good thing. I am not too technical so I will need further explanation as to how it would work.
The idea is pretty simple. If I install the same browser and the same exact addons/plugins/extensions to it as a million people, then it makes it very difficult to determine for certain that I am not any of the others except by IP. (And we have that problem covered by the VPN.)

So I made what I consider a great setup for an all-purpose browser that can do everything I need to do. I left the threads open to everyone so if I missed something that is needed others can remind me.

Really the only part that is a real risk is the VLC plugin. But that is left in since some sites actually do need it. And if anyone has to add something, the profile is not as "unified" as I intended. (And will be fixed if anyone tells me of a problem.)

    Does that explain it better?
Hey I wonder if Derek Zimmer wipes his backdoor?lol get it.?
No. Could you explain it to me? (Please do not. I am just messing with you.) :D
I don't use Chrome, I just consider the Chromium code robust, which is why I would consider SlimJet if you are looking for an alternative to Firefox.
As time goes on I am thinking more and more of installing SlimJet and making a profile for it as well. The only thing that has kept me from doing that already is that I suspect many of the extensions I use in Firefox may not be compatible with SlimJet.

But SlimJet is still gaining users, so eventually most if not all the things I want will be ready for the move.
*Edit* I am an idiot. I was thinking of PaleMoon, not SlimJet. Sorry for the mix-up.
