  • Thanks. Of these https://www.openmailbox.org/ and https://ruggedinbox.com/ seem the best. Both support SMTP and POP3. I may well use some of these if my current unreachable problem continues with the service I sue.
  • Agree also ruggedinbox has Tor address

    s4bysmmsnraf7eut.onion

  • OpenMailBox.org is ok, but ruggedinbox.com I would not use if someone paid me to use it.
    Do you suspect a honeypot?
  • In the context of this I mean "honeypot" to have any number of possible causes and effects. It would still be true if it were a private individual with no concern for the privacy of others. And I never said anything about any governmental agency or country.

Google is a honeypot. They look very appealing until you learn the details of what they are actually doing.

I am not like our resident lunatic. But you said you would not use them if someone paid you. Could you explain what your aversion is to them?
  • edited August 2015
You did *NOT* explain your aversion to them. You edited your post after I asked you for your aversion and pretended it was that way from the start.

Since I cannot ever quote you since nearly every post you make is edited over and over until I sound like I am talking to myself, you have to understand that revisionist history is a subject I will gladly fail. I am not going to keep on discussing like this.

When I make an edit, I make it retain the original meaning and a separate part explaining what was changed. I do this for the benefit of anyone else involved in the thread. If you choose not to do something similar, I understand. But I will not be robert_lazar'ed into a different meaning to every post I make.

Do as you like. But know that at times you are more aggravating to converse with that UBob. And that takes skill. Bravo. (If you are not intentionally trolling, then I am at a loss for how this keeps happening.)
*Edit* Please disregard this post. It only remains for reference as needed.
  • I was still in the process of writing the post, and it posted "by its self" at various times. This is because of some software we use for our legal work running, the forum software used at this forum does not play well with it and while writing a post it will automatically post by it's self at various time randomly, this is the only forum this has ever happened on and even with this particular forum type software on other forums it does not happen. Its something about how they have it set up or some 'add on' type thing they are using. This means I have to go back and edit a post a lot sometimes. When ever I post here i'm also doing some legal work as well and need that software running. I post while I wait for something to do with the legal work the software is working on to finish.

No, I did not 'pretend' "it was that way from the start", I was simply letting you know that I had explained it so you could go back and read it if you wanted to. Its got nothing to do with "revisionist history".
Well hell. I was getting all warmed up for a good and very cruel rant about things you have said in the past. (Complete with references.) And now I feel like an asshole. I apologize. Please disregard my comments.

As for the forums, I do understand some of the problems. I try to avoid mentioning most of it because I believe it is part of the antispam measures they use here. And I would rather type in binary than provide a hint that could help a spammer abuse the site.

Again. I am really sorry. I will send you the rant I was typing up in a PM so you can laugh at it. (I hope you can at least.)
  • Since I came so very close to posting what would have been the most
inflammatory post I ever made here, I am going to turn off my PC and
force myself to get some sleep. I am grateful that you responded before I
did that. I would have been mortified had I posted that here against
you when you have not actually done anything wrong.

    Perhaps after
some sleep I will be more level headed and not such an asshole. And the
irony is that I recall you telling me of your problem with posts being
made while you were still composing them.
  • I hear good things about posteo.org as an email service.
  • Here is a post I made elsewhere that applies equally here. (Since an e-mail provider is useless if no-one can understand how to contact you.)
Everything below this line is a direct quote.

Any spam bot can figure out a username at a domain dot com and spam the everloving shit out of you.

    Try this method instead.

Let's say I am the President of a little place called the Whitehouse and
I like decreasing taxes. But my brother Dot and sister Gov do not
    agree.

No bot currently in use can make sense that I just told you [email protected] And any child can figure it out.

It is up to each of us to outsmart the spam bots. Do not rely on filters. *YOU* are the one who needs to be the filter.
  • OpenMailBox.org is ok, but ruggedinbox.com I would not use if someone paid me to use it.
    Do you suspect a honeypot?
LoL :) why is it the first thing that comes up is a 'honeypot' or the NSA or some other government agency from any country is always behind the scenes .... LoL :)

There is a lot more out there than that, more pervasive than any government could ever be. I 'suspect' a criminal 'enterprise' association that would compromise ya in a heartbeat. Its been "implicated", although the people behind it have never been formally charged with, several criminal "activities" dealing with money laundering, hacking bank accounts, credit card scams, identity theft, phishing, and its a favorite of underground criminal groups and forums dealing in such criminal activity and supplying software for attacking and exploiting vulnerabilities we work to protect our systems against. There is a reason they are "off shore" and are 'afraid' of the FBI, and its got nothing to do with 'privacy' or any government 'spying' stuff.
