Server in South Africa

Good Day, thank you so much for the service you provide. I have had no problems so far and the few queries I have had have been dealt with exceptionally well by the support team. I recommend PIA to all my friends.

I don't know if this is the right place to make such a request, but would you please consider adding a server in South Africa. Access to broadband has really expanded over the last few years and Africa is becoming a huge market for data intensive applications. As more and more consumers become privacy aware the need for a reliable fast VPN service would be very attractive (and could lead to massive growth if tapped).

Please keep us in mind when considering the addition of more servers.

  • Hello William180

Thank you for your suggestion on this.

I have passed the suggestion along to our developers for review. If they find it requested enough, and it's viable, then they may consider it for development in the future.

  • +1 on this.
Speeds to the auto server (auto connects to UK Southampton in South Africa) tend to be very slow when using TCP 443 (HTTPS) port.
Previous VPNs I've used that had a South African server had zero speed issues on TCP 443 port due to the significantly shorter distance the packets had to travel.
  • Hi
I'm also using PIA but am finding speeds very slow.
Please consider coming to South Africa. I have 159 days left of my account and will consider an alternative with a server in South Africa when I have to decide if I renew my account.
  • Hi Support

Any news on a local VPN server in South Africa? This request was lodged 2 years ago.

    Thanks,

  • According to this older forum post they plan to add 10 countries in the next few months.

"Our next batch of server locations are Czech Republic, Spain, Bulgaria, Austria, and Hungary. After that we're launching Belgium, Greece and after that Poland. We have location plans for 10 countries within the next few months and then work further from there."
No word on whether Africa will be added to the server network.
