Comments

  • Will upgrade and see what happens in win 10 TUN/TAP issues

  • There is no mention of the Windows 7 problems people are were having with v53.

Does this mean no more support for windows 7?
  • Just updated to version 54 and speeds are back up and will see if it stays this way.Support told me new version will have a fix so will see
  • using win7 64 bit should have said
  • I can confirm it too. The latest v54 update solved all problems with connections and speeds. It works great +1 from me to PIA and team. Windows 10 1511 x64

    I can't install it.  I'm running Windows 10, 64-bit

Yeah, not quite. Still experiencing speed issues with concurrent downloading from multiple sources, along with packet loss and dropped connections.  Doesn't take many to cripple the throughput almost completely.

Someone in another forum mentioned that multi-threaded Chrome browser was completely useless... 5kbs average.

    Anyone else?

I assume this is related to the Port Forward Vulnerability fix that has been patched in v52, v53 and now v54... seems a v55 should be forthcoming soon.
  • Old errors are back. For example, while downloading Torrents, the client gets disconnected after a few minutes. Uninstalled, Rebooted, Re-Installed several times and now not even going back to v.53 is an option.
So, I have no choice but to use OpenVPN 2.3.9
  • Seems to me, that PIA's *entire* SDLC process is as broken as the software.  Does anyone on the dev team even know what SDLC is?

  • Yeah, really seems like PIA dev are shooting wildly from the hip.

Shame, because it used to be a rock solid service, but it has now become fragile and slow.

Customers being left in the dark doesn't help either.

Spoke too soon.  I'm having the same problems as before.
You can get v46 here.  Just make sure you don't use port forwarding, because that was before the fix.
  • Rollback TAP adapter driver from 9.0.0.21 to 9.0.0.9 worked for me on Win8.1.

Use the OpenVPN 2.2 installed to achieve this...

    https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/pages/client-support/windows-openvpn

Another user on another forum recommended this method and my connection is stable again when downloading concurrently from multiple sources at multiple locations.

    Good luck!

To just install the old TAP Adapter 9.0.0.9 go to :
    http://swupdate.openvpn.org/community/releases/
    Look for "tap-windows-9.9.2_3.exe"

    Or then again directly :
    http://swupdate.openvpn.org/community/releases/tap-windows-9.9.2_3.exe

This fixes a lot of the problems with the new versions.
