Can't connect NAS to PIA: Asustor NAS 602t

Hi, I've been trying to figure this out for a couple of days now and I found some helpful tips in the forum but I still can't seem to get my NAS to connect to PIA. I'm running the Asustor's ADM systems and there is a built-in OpenVPN connection option in the settings.

I'm kind of a novice with the DIY stuff so I'm sure I'm missing something really basic. I have the settings:

Server: us-texas.privateinternetaccess.com
Protocol: UDP
Port: 1194
my account and password are correct
Certificate: I'm using the ca.crt file from the openvpn.zip from PIA's website. Does it matter where this is saved (my computer vs. inside the NAS somewhere)? Does it make a difference that when I choose the file it shows this as the path: "C:\fakepath\ca.crt"

Under Advanced I have:

Cipher: BF-CBC
Authentication: SHA1
Enable compression on the VPN link - checked
Route all client traffic through the VPN server - checked
Reconnect when the VPN connection is lost - checked

I put all that in and save it. Then when I try to connect I get the error:
Could not connect to server. Either you have entered an invalid address or the remote service is not available (Ref. 5601).

I've tried a few different server locations and they all give me the same error. Do I need to find an IP for one of these and put THAT in as the server?

Does it matter that when I go back in to check the settings of the connection I tried to set up that the ca.crt certificate area is empty? Is it somehow not saving that file and that's why the connection fails?

Are there other settings that I have to enable/disable first on my router or other network settings on my NAS that need to be changed?

I'm so lost it's embarrassing! Any help would be much appreciated!
