*Spoiler* Star Wars The Force Awakens Talks !

Hey Everyone !

So I feel like it is high time we all start getting along, and what better way then to have a civil discussion on a topic most geeks/nerds will enjoy... STAR WARS!!!

Okay so here's the scoop, believe it or not I have yet to see the new Star Wars the Force Awakens, I have seen every other Star Wars movies on a plethora of occasions.

So my questions for you guys is as follows:

1) Is it a good movie
2) is it worth going to see in theaters, or should I wait for it to be released on DVD/Blu-Ray ?
3) Who were your favorite characters/least favorite and why?
4) How many times have you seen it so far ?
5) Any other comments you may have

*Rules for this post*
1) If you can't have a civil discussion do not post.
2) No vulgarity or harassment of other users or their opinions
3) Try not to ruin the movie for those who may not have seen it (However I put spoiler in the title to be safe)

The goal here is to spark some commonality between our users to try and create the feeling of a community where these kind of discussions can be held in off-topic, and it's a discussion that warrants a reply.

These are the types of posts we are looking for here, albeit Mr.Lazars topics of flatulence are real page turners

,I however feel like the type of post I'm making currently are the types of discussions that have more merit and hold more bearing on our customer base, in regards to a topic they might actually feel inclined to share on.

Sincerely,
Jason M

  • Great Idea Tiny!

I would recommend seeing it in Theaters, however when I saw it in 3D there was some motion blur and screen tearing which took me out of it a bit. I've seen it twice, once in 3D and once not. I preferred it in non-3D.

I would give it a B+. Nothing too groundbreaking but gives you everything you want out of a Star Wars movie
  • Hi Scruff,

Thank you for the input ! I appreciate you taking the time to comment on the film !

I appreciate your replies and I would have to take your advice and most likely watch it in non 3d first.

a solid B+ this day in age on movies is a decent rating considering the vast amount of crap releases lol!

Does anyone else have anything they would like to share on this topic ?

    Cheers,
    Jason M

  • Jason, I think this is a great idea -- an excellent example of what should be included in Off-topic.

As much as I'd like to see the latest Star Wars, I don't care for any of the theaters in my area. The lack of cleanliness in too many theaters these day is downright appalling. So I'll be waiting patiently for the DVD release where I can watch it in the health and safety of my own home.
  • Hey Tomeworm !

Isn't that the truth hahaha! So many people do not care enough to make any effort to be clean or keep an area around them clean, you are right it is down right appalling!

Hows this for an idea, anyone who has not seen it or is waiting for it to come out on DVD put your name on the forums and we should set a date and watch it when it is released together!

We each watch it on the same day from our respective locations then we can have a civil discussion on it the following day on the forums!

For anyone you who would interested in this idea let me know !

    Cheers,
    Jason M
  • I am not a Star Wars fan, but there is not much else going on. You can count me in as well.

I was last in a theater back in the mid '90s. I have no intention of ever returning. DVD is the way for me.

I've had concerns about the health and safety of movie theaters for years now, but once in a while I'd still go, for the right movie. However, ever since I read this article I've stopped going:

"“[WebCinema will prevent customers] being forced into bad seats at a crowded theater, sitting in an unclean seat, being stepped on, endless previews, plus the annoying people talking behind you and texting in front of you!” he continues."

All very true, but it gets even worse. However, I won't derail this thread by delving into that.
  • I thought it was pretty good, my main issue with it has to be that it seems to be made for everyone, not just start wars fans, it was also heavily directed at people who have never seen the movies before, which certainly made it worse than it could have been. Past that, it seemed like it was just filled to the brim with things to make you nostalgic, it seemed like every 10 minutes they added something from the old movies in for no other reason but making people nostalgic.

Even with those criticisms though, it was a great movie all and all, I went to see it twice in theaters, and will most certainly be buying it once it comes out. I'm pretty excited for the next movie, and I think you all should at least try to get the chance to see it, weather it is in theaters or on DVD/Blu-ray.

I certainly understand what you guys mean (Tomeworm and Omninegro) theaters are rather disgusting places, but the experience of being in a room with your friends and a ton of other people, all interested and excited to see this same movie, just can't be matched by watching movies at home (And I used to work at a movie rental store). Me and my friends go to see movies in the theaters multiple times a week, we managed to have a group of 13 friends to see Hateful Eight last week. When I went to Star Wars opening night, it was an experience I have never really had before, the theater was 100% full, and you could feel every reaction and emotion from the audience. At the start of the movie, whenever the opening text started, you could feel the entire audience's excitement.
  • I've seen it several times already and while the biggest complaint seems to be it mirrors A New Hope a little too much, which it sorta does in a way, it is never the less a very entertaining movie. If you liked the older Star Wars movies ( 4,5,6 ), definitely check it out

I will wait for the torrent :)

    I am a pirate.

Now, I could go and watch, but, I am against MPAA and Hollywood elites.

By the way, there is a huge hoopla about Star Wars, people trying to pretend they are star wars fans and people trying to be the best Star wars fan, it continued till the day the movie was released.

Just one question to all those people

Have you seen : Star Wars Rebels? If no, you are not a Star Wars fan.

No amount of costume and toys and tweets and facebook memes can make you one.

Not even buying BB-8 can make you one.
