Yeah you receive that message from the Android OS due to the fact you are connecting to a VPN and it could easily be used to monitor all of your activity.
Don't worry, it's just a warning for those that don't know. Though I'm sure you are aware their are plenty of them out there that would monitor you if given the chance. So I think it's well warranted warning message.
