Connection speed question

I not keen on speed as far as my router is concerned. But I have exteme twc connection. When I run a speed test my average is ping=54s
Download=36mbps. Upload=6mbps

Is this ok and if not does anyone know how to increase speed.

    First of all, lets rule out the most likely error. Do not use Speedtest sites. They are notoriously unreliable.

    Instead start your torrent client without a torrent running and then start a free Linux ISO image like this one. Because it is truly free, no-one fears being "caught" downloading or seeding it. So your speeds will be better than you would believe.

    Now the bad side of this is that you will only be able to test how good your download speed is. People seed these for years at a time, so the odds are you will never be able to contribute one single byte. But it will most certainly tell you how fast your connection can get.
