Per-App VPN

I was noticing that, while installing PIA on my Android phone and tablet, the phone has the Per-App VPN option. The tablet doesn't, which would be great, since Netflix blocks the VPN servers. I'm wondering if there is a similar option on Windows 10? Of course, it's probably a system-wide setting, isn't it? For now, I have to turn off PIA to run Netflix.

To be honest, my use of VPN has nothing to do with privacy, but getting around the dynamic IP that my ISP gives me. In the last few months, every single IP turns up on a bunch of blacklists, which means I have to answer a ridiculous number of Captcha verifications. That's what I get, freelancing in Peru. So far, PIA is helping get past all that ridiculousness, but it would be nice if Netflix could bypass the VPN.

For now, I'd like to know two things:
  1. Is there a Per-App setting in Windows?
  2. Will there be a Per-App setting on my Android tablet?

  • Hi LoneWolffe,

The per-app setting is actually only available in certain versions of Android. This is not us refusing to implement the feature, it's Android disallowing it. You can't enable this setting on your tablet because the version of Android running on it does not provide this feature for us to take advantage of. In regards to Windows, it does not contain such a setting due to the way VPN applications are designed.

Unfortunately, due to operating system restrictions, we cannot circumvent these.

Thank you very much for catching up with me on this. Have a good day. =)
  • I have these options on my samsung galaxy s5, but they don't work at all. Whether they are ticked or not I can't bypass the VPN. If I could this would be the best vpn app/service for me. I've tested this on many apps including speedtest.net app. Any help would be appreciated, from my searches I've not been able to find a single person that has been able to use this capability on your app. I've only found a lot of people unable to get it to work but never a working solution on any of these public forums.
