How can I remote desktop on lan with PIA running?

I have two machines on my lan. One with PIA. If I run PIA I can no longer remote into that machine. Is there a way to get around this?

    Hi el_dub,

    Due to the way VPNs are designed, accessing local machines while connected to them is not actually possible. For more information, I recommend checking out one of our support articles.

    Hi el_dub,
    I had the same issue as you are having.
    I however tried TeamViewer, which works on many platforms and is free for private use, if you register username and password, you can connect to your computers this way, thus there servers will know how to contact your computer even if VPN is activated. I regularly use this over my local network and can connect to PIA during a session and it will not drop out.
