Cancelled subscription because of speed issues, no refund and my account has been turned off.

Despite being told that I would be able to use the service for the year I paid for, the moment I cancelled the recurring payment on my credit card my account was turned off. I've been using my login and password for two years and it no longer works. Coincidence? I don't think so. PIA wouldn't give me a partial refund when I started encountering speed issues over the past 4 months. My payment went through two months ago, I was fed up and decided to cancel. Now my account isn't working after cancelling the recurring payment? I am starting to think PIA are some scammers.

  • Hi MBMan,

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you've been experiencing with our VPN. We would be more than happy to investigate both your account issues and your speed issues.

Please send an email to [email protected] and our support team will be happy to assist you in resolving your technical and account issues.

  • How about investigating why my login/password that was working for two years, and has never been changed suddenly stopped working the moment I cancelled my subscription? Get an answer to that question otherwise stop pretending like you can help when you most likely have zero technical expertise. Now my service doesn't work at all, I can connect to the VPN, but I can't load any pages. Literally every single webpage times out when connected to the closest VPN to my region. Hopefully someone else reads this and decides to not use this service when deciding on a VPN.
  • I'm very sorry for the frustrations that you have experienced. I understand that these issues can be frustrating, and I want to take a moment to assure you that we are here solely to help you with whatever you need, so long as it is within our power. When you cancel your subscription, all that is cancelled is the automatic renewal of the account. You would even receive a confirmation email letting you know that the account will remain active for the time you have already paid for, then self-terminate instead of renewing at the end of the billing period.

It is unusual for the login information to stop working when auto-renewal is disabled. Rest assured we're more than happy to investigate this issue, however we cannot do so without first locating the account.

In order to work out exactly what is happening, we would like to continue troubleshooting with our technical support team. These sort of loading issues can commonly be caused by DNS issues, and fixed by manually assigning our dns servers. However, to ensure that we troubleshoot accordingly we will need you to contact support directly.

Your feedback is very important to us and we would love to work with you to resolve this. Please email [email protected] and we'll get this sorted.

    Thanks,

  • I have done this before and when I cancelled and then changed my mind, I had to make a new account. I do think it's a protection policy on PIA part. It is a good policy if it keeps those that are spying by way of malware to just try and re-establish an account that has been terminated by me. I do hope that PIA has done everything it can to help you.
