android pia not working propely

Hi i'm Shy from holland.

I have a major problem that i can't resolve by myself.

I bought a tv box, and it runs on android.

I\ve downloaded the app  pia from the play store.

I bought the box for watching movies, en that part is going very well.

What the problem is, the movie plays well, but the subtitles wont work.

If i disconnect from pia the subtitles will work.

So i tried to choose another country, but that doesnt do the trick.

Then i tried to install the pia app on my (windows) laptop, that went well.

Then i tried to watch a movie with subtitles, and that worked great!.

So the problem was with my vpn program, so i decided to install an old version of pia on my tv box.

It worked about an hour, and after the hour it also stopped working with the subtitles.

I also tried to select another country, but that doesnt the trick.

Do you guys know what i can do to make my subtitles to work??

Maybe a change of settings of someting?

I hope you guys can help me out, im really desperate.

the service that i use for my subtitles is subtitles.org, and the program to watch my movie is called kodi.

I also heard about installing pia in openvpn, does anybody know if that works?

I'd honestly suggest that you try another VPN service.

i really want to be safe while i'm watching movies.

I have it on Matricon G-Box Q, it was working with subtitle, but yesterday the client crashes right after it launches, are you facing same issue?

no i'm not, just that the subtitles won't work.

well tried it, did not help unfortunatly.

i contacted the helpdesk of pia, and they advised me to use tcp with port 110.

for now it works, but do not know for howlong.

The Android app is straight up broken currently, right? No ports for me on a fresh install.
