kill switch on Mac, and Mac networking adapter name
I have been using PIA on Windows for a while. I'm just starting to use it on OS X. I have a couple questions about how things might be different.
Question #1:
This is regarding the kill switch. On Windows, the kill switch works okay, but sometimes messes up the settings. I have to change the IP 4 settings back to get an IP address automatically. My question is what to do in OS X if I use the kill switch and it happens to mess up the network settings. (Does it ever mess them up in OS X?) I don't know anything about network configuration in OS X.
Question #2:
I use qbittorrent while on the VPN. qbittorrent has a wonderful feature that helps to stop torrent traffic from being sent in the clear by mistake, which is that you can select a particular network adapter to use. On Windows, I run ipconfig on the command line to find out what the TAP adapter is called. Usually it's called "Ethernet". So I can select that in the qbittorent advanced options.
So how do I find out what the TAP adapter is called in OS X?

In my testing, I haven't had it mess up any of the OSX network settings. If you do encounter anything like that in the future though, you can always send us an email or open a ticket on our help center so that we can help work out exactly what's going on and help resolve it:

The network adapter in OSX is called 'utun', but given how OSX's networking is setup that adapter created and removed whenever the VPN is connected and disconnected (and may be renamed when created). So long as the killswitch is on, your traffic should go through the VPN or not go anywhere at all (unless you manually disconnect the VPN).
