Denied Access to www.target.com using PIA in US

This morning my wife discovered that she could not access www.target.com when I am using PIA VPN via openvpn on my ASUS router or via the PIA Win10 client.  When my VPN is enabled and connected to the us-midwest servers, I receive the following error:

Access Denied

You don't have permission to access "http://www.target.com/" on this server.

Does anyone know why I would be blocked from targets website from within the US using US based servers?  To access I can turn VPN off, but wanted to know if this is a known issue.

Can anyone answer this? I'm having the same issue too. No alternate IPs are working. Guess I won't be shopping at Target.

Hi ViperVPN,

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with Target while connected to the VPN.

In regards to your access being denied, it is quite possible that Target has begun blocking VPN IPs, or shared IPs in general, due to abusive behaviour by users on the VPN. It's also quite possible that Target has begun blocking IPs in a similar way to Netflix/Hulu, in order to keep their services geolocked.

Most likely, you can remedy this situation by connecting to another server.

At Christmas time in 2013 Target had a massive security breach that as many as 40 million credit card and debit card accounts may have been compromised.. My guess is that is what caused Target to begin blocking VPN IP's, etc.

I can't get to Target using a US server, but was able to access Target's international site using the CA Toronto VPN.

Also just tried while connected to US New York City and have no problems.  So I guess it's just we who live in the West that are bad guys as far as Target goes <lol> I have tried US Seattle, US Clifornia, US West and just got to the Access Denied page.

Same thing happened to me -- I can't access Target's website while on a US West, California, Seattle, or Florida server. However, I switched to US New York City, and that fixed it.

Me too.  I can't access via SaferWeb VPN.  I have to disconnect and then I will be able to log in to Target.com.  Simply annoying.......
