ICMP Drops / No upload on private trackers
I'm using PIA on two Deluge dockers. I'm also using Sophos as a firewall.
Everything seems to be working fine for public trackers -- I am still unclear if I should have Peer Exchange and DHT enabled and things appear to be faster with them enabled but my sampling is too small to be certain that isn't just variance.
My issue is with private trackers where I definitely need to have DHT and peer-exchange disabled. I can download but at 10% of what I should -- turning PIA off and changing nothing else increases that by a factor of at least 5x. More importantly I can't upload/seed. It isn't slow -- it is completely non-existent.
I've added exemptions for the range of IPs that PIA uses to my anti- UDP and ICMP flooding protection. That is required should anyone else using Sophos and PIA end up here looking for help.
I currently though have nearly non-stop ICMP default drops from my external IP to one of the IPs in the PIA range. I don't know how to fix that or more importantly even if I should be fixing that or if that is normal?
