Kodi Addon Exodus

edited December 2016 in Windows VPN Setup
Hi Everyone,

I have installed the Exodus Addon for Kodi, which seems to be working great. But I was wondering how I should add PIA to work with Kodi. Is there a option in Kodi I should change? Or do I change this on Windows only. Because I installed PIA on Windows, but not sure if that is enough and if I can continue to stream as normal.

I followed this guide to install:

https://jetspeedtech.com/how-to-install-exodus-on-kodi/

Once I have VPN setup, I can stream annonymously? Also, will PIA slow down my streaming if I have that enabled?

Thanks

Sam

  • If PIA is properly installed on your PC then ALL internet traffic will go through it.  This includes KODI and any of its add-ons.

You should have no trouble finding a server fast enough to accommodate the streams Exodus is pulling.
  • When I look into general information under settings on Kodi it shows my real ip not the one that is showing on the top of my browser for pia, this is in Win10, Kodi 17
  • Something may be leaking that IP to Kodi.  UPnP, WebRTC.  I'm not sure how Kodi works in the background.

    Go to IPleak.net

Do you see your REAL IP there?  It might give you more insight as to why.
  • why are you even worried about it?? has anyone ever gotten a notice for streaming something? not that I know of...they only monitor p2p swarms to send notices...for something like kodi exodus they'd go after the addon developer, not you as it's a streaming source...even with kodi boxes, they go after the people that set up and sell them, not the end users

With PIA connected, kodi shows my LAN IP of the PIA server I'm connected to.  You don't get a PIA IP all to yourself - you share it with a bunch of other PIA users.

It's interesting that it does this, but it probably simply a matter of from where it is pulling the information.  I think it does its best to give the IP you would need to use a web-enabled remote control.

In Linux, you can see your PIA LAN IP easily by entering 'ifconfig' in the terminal.  In Windows, I would try 'ipconfig /all' but I'm guessing - maybe someone with more Win knowhow than me can pipe in...
  • Kodi and exodus is not like torrents. With torrents your IP is available to the world. With exodus you are streaming directly from a shosting site like putlocker. So nobody knows your IP but putlocker and maybe kodi itself. So I wouldn't worry about getting letters. I personally don't and haven't had any issues.
  • Hi. I'm new here, and completely inexperienced with VPNs, but wanted to add a quick note @moshbeast. Friends of mine who were torrenting did get a warning notice from their ISP, saying that "someone" appeared to be using their account for illegal streaming. That's why I'm looking at VPNs.

I'm also using Exodus on kodi firestick and it is working fine. PIA can't slow your streaming but instead make it fast. PIA have already provided guide for setup VPN on Windows. Here is the guide link for both Windows and Firestick.
No, nobody should follow the steps there, no more than anyone should follow steps in most Youtube videos. Why would anyone follow those direction when you can easily install it from the Play Store and have the most stable build directly from Kodi.

That is just another site pushing piracy add-ons, and considering that you don't even know what OS the Shield runs I would say you are just spamming the forum trying to get clicks for that site.
  • Kodi addons is a great media app for getting it means download and installation all applications.
since so many time i am a user of KODI. kindly click here for KODI information.

  • For anyone stumbling onto this conversation, kodi addons like exodus use torrents as the underlying technology to stream movies to you.

You HAVE to use a VPN or proxy or you can/will get copyright notices.

Kodi natively supports proxies if the device ypu are using dows not allow VPN software installed.
