Losing Internal Network Access (Windows)

edited January 2017 in P2P Support
Heyup,

I have a weird issue on my network, I have a recently setup media server that hosts all my various media for use on a device running Kodi on my TV.

This media server also runs my torrent software uTorrent and has a VPN installed (Cyber Ghost).  I am seeing intermittent issues where by other windows boxes on my network lose connection to the media server however the Kodi box (running OSMC) does not, and can continue to stream happily whilst my windows machines cannot even ping the server, this is frustrating as I also lose the ability to RDP to the box.

Any ideas whats causing this? I think it is somehow related to when uTorrent is running, however this does not always appear to be the case as I have had that running and been able to RDP/browse the shared folders for hours without issue, then it will just stop working.

Thanks

  • Forgot to add, if I am on the media server I can still go out to the network fine, it's just other windows machines that can't seem to connect in....
  • First thing to do would be sign up for a proper VPN, like PIA :-)
