Port forwarding for private trackers (qBittorrent) HELP?
So I can't seem to figure this out...
Basically I'm trying to become "connectable" on a private tracker and I'm having trouble with port forwarding.
I had a lot of trouble with this the last time I did it. I was doing it by putting the port from the tooltip from PIA connection to the torrent client and that worked, but it was a pain to have to edit that every time I got a different port/IP in PIA.
Then I remember finding some sort of post somewhere that made it really simple.
I only had to put the port I wanted to use in to the "local port" in the PIA settings and the same in to qbittorrent settings (or something like that) and it worked all the time even if I changed the server (as long as it had port forwarding of course)
Today I re-installed windows (went from 10 to 7)
Now I can't seem to get either way of doing things to work...
I have UPnP/NAT-PMP port forwarding and port randomization disabled in the torrent client and currently trying to work with the port 51122 so I put that in to qbittorrent and as the local port in the PIA client.
No luck.
I also tried just using the reported port from the PIA connection tooltip as the port in qbittorrent, but that didn't work either.
I've been trying to test it out with canyouseeme.org, but the (better) PIA local port method yields a "connection refused" and the tooltip port method gets me "connection timed out"
HELP!?

Edit:
With the sloppy method of using the reported port from the tool tip, I at least got public trackers working. I don't see why even public trackers weren't working before. I was getting OK speeds out of what I assume must have been through DHT since all trackers were "Not working" previously.
Now with the tooltip port in qbittorrent I at least got public trackers working. Still no luck getting connectable on the private tracker though.
Through this method I do get the "Connection timed out" from canyouseeme.org instead of "refused" that I get from attempting the better method, so I guess that's something...
Not that it's helpful...
