Proxy stopped working today (It's working fine for me now, others still have problems it seems)

edited March 2017 in P2P Support
Out of the blue, just stopped working.  I decide to fire up the VPN (which I never use) and test my download speed.  Google shows 2 mb/s... !!  I turn it off, 80 mb/s.  What the hell PIA.

  • It doesn't work for me either
  • Im having same issue. "Error: The network connection was aborted by the local system". I was getting

"Error: The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application".

PIA support will give me ZERO support on socks5.

  • It's still down ........

Hey everyone, I'm very sorry for the trouble here. We're aware of the troubles with this right now, and are working with our DC partners to resolve these issues. We'll continue working with them until it's resolved and running at full efficiency. For now I'd need to recommend using the VPN instead.

    Regards,

This really is outrageous. The VPN stops working the moment uTorrent starts up. It's not just that it's too slow, it actually seems to be denying service when uTorrent is used. Wish I had not been lazy and changed to a  different VPN when my subscription expired.
  • It's been down all day for me, since about 10am.
At first I didn't realise as iiNet also had problems and my router crapped itself at the same time and dropped it's settings, what a fun day in the office.
  • The proxy has just started working, it's dead slow, but it is connecting now.
  • It's speeding up now
  • Still not working for me. No connection at all.

I just ran a test and it completed.  Seems to work now for me.  So thanks for the speedy recovery PIA.  You still need to work on your VPN speeds though.

Still not fixed. Error: The network connection was aborted by the local system

Use the IP 46.166.190.151 for now if you don't have a backup proxy server.
  • Still down for me.
  • @Rowsol What is that program you are using to check?
  • Yeah been having issues connecting to proxy-nl.privateinternetaccess.com, but no issues when I use one of these IPs: 46.166.186.193 or 46.166.190.151   Full speed, just like usual. Hopefully they get the issue resolved soon, until then I'll use one of those.

  • Yea the issue is some ip's work and others don't so the domain is useless
  • this is not fixed YET and ever since it been down i cant even work ......i cant use the VPN BECAUSE I GET BLOCKED EASILY ...ADMIN YOU GUYS BETTER WORK FAST
  • HOW LONG BEFORE THE PROXY START WORKING .........................PLS DO SOMETHING FAST

Aha, came in to find out wtf was going on.

    Yep down for me too.

Any admins on the job? We need help here, PIA is broken.
  • Same experience as above people, popped in one of the other IPs instead of using domain to get torrents working again.

Can OP edit the title, this thing isn't fixed yet.
  • i cant even work with the vpn ......wish admin will reply and let us know what going on
  • Did a little testing with the proxy checker posted above using proxy-nl.privateinternetaccess.com and about 8/10 times it works. Which is FAR better than yesterday.

  • I need a 100% solution, it didn't work at all for me today and I've had to replace the domain name with an individual IP address to make it work. This is a bandaid fix (not happy).

Admin needs to step in here and a) tell us what they're doing to fix it and b) make sure it gets fixed asap.
  • Of course it's just a bandaid fix, but it's better than nothing and yes it would be nice for a admin to provide a update or ETA on when it'll be fixed.
  • I sent a PM to doaks (the PIA guy who posted earlier in this thread), hopefully he'll come back in and let us know what's going on.
  • ADMIN PLEASE GET IN HERE OOO AND HELP
