Comcast blocking socks5 on port 1080

edited March 2017 in P2P Support
Looks like Comcast is blocking Socks5 on port 1080. Are there any other ways to connect to socks5?

https://www.xfinity.com/support/internet/list-of-blocked-ports/ lists downstream as blocked due to "Port 1080 is vulnerable to, among others, viruses, worms and DoS attacks."

  • I'm glad I saw this post. Was wondering why Vuze would not work. I took off the proxy settings. Hopefully I'm secure by just using the windows app.
