"osascript" Mac OS Installation Issues

I signed up for Private Internet Access today and was successful in installing the Google Chrome extension. However, the Mac OS app does NOT work. Whenever I open the .dmg installation file and click on "Private Internet Access Installer", the system displays the following prompt: "osascript wants to make changes. Enter your password to allow this." Because I did not understand why this permission was necessary, I did not enter my password and the installation aborted.

Why is this message appearing? Are there settings that I can change so that it won't appear? I feel like I shouldn't need to give permissions during the installation.

For your reference, my operating system is macOS Sierra 10.12.3. I normally run my computer with Sophos Antivirus and the built-in Mac firewall. I tried uninstalling Sophos and disabling the firewall, and the "osascript wants to make changes" prompt still appeared when I tried to install Private Internet Access. I also tried dragging the .dmg file into the Applications folder and running it from there, but the same prompt showed up.

I would really like for all of my web traffic (Firefox, etc.), and not just Google Chrome traffic, to be protected by PIA. I would be dissatisfied if the Mac app did not work with my computer.
