Server connection hangs when switching between mobile data and wifi

I often switch between mobile data and wifi, and every time I do it, the connection hangs at second step. I have to manually stop the VPN and start again in order to connect to a server. Can it be fixed?

Seeing the same thing. Do we need to disconnect/reconnect every time we change connections?

I'm seeing this but not every time. 
Worse though, PIA seems to leak processes and at some point my (MacOS) machine runs out within a day and starts failing everywhere and needs a reboot. 

So I've gone from rebooting once every 6 months to now every day or few.
