Desktop Client Connects but Can't Resolve Anything

I opened a support ticket for this but figured I would ask here also. I have downloaded the chrome extension and iOS apps (iPad + iPhone) and both work fine from my home connection (tested LTE also and it worked fine). However, when I connect with the OS X desktop app on the same laptop and same network I can connect but cannot ping anything or resolve any DNS names. Has anyone experienced this before?
