So what do you think? Has PIA gone over to the Dark Side?

  • Then move on.
  • I don't think they've turned to the dark side at all, but I DO think that they are probably the ":most likely to be targeted" by the dark side.  Taking out full page ads in newspapers calling out major Internet Providers and the current administration, etc. is not the way to stay "under the radar."

It is something I think about.  Is it really a good idea to be using a VPN that gets a lot of attention or is it better to use one that just quietly provides a service and avoids the limelight?  Not sure of the answer.
  • Not sure the "dark side" but definitely the "in over your head side". Don't think they've been able to keep up once the recent surge of users came in from the NSA spying crap.
  • No, quite the opposite. I think PIA is trying to shore up as many resources as they can to meet the influx of demand. I am one of those who joined after Congress made it possible for ISPs to cash in on my private information. I think PIA is good. I think they're providing a good service, I just hope they can get all of this sorted out for their customers, and themselves, and because I subbed for a year. lol

I just purchased this service and I'm happy with it. It quietly provides me with the privacy I need and I notice 0 slow down... rather, it feels like browsing the web has become faster for me (though I only tried one server so far). Much better than my previous service. I can see there are way more users here hence the trouble with support answering requests at a slow rate. As long as my questions are answered within 72 hours, I can deal with it.

I read through the forums and did several of those leak tests and it hasn't failed once. Wish I knew this info on my previous service so I could of tested its effectiveness but too late now. But from the sound of this topic, you're saying they may be targeted? For now, changing your ip is not illegal and as long as Private Internet Access legal policy's are in accordance to the law, no one can touch them..... I think.

ex - megaupload. I'm sure everyone knows what happened to Kim. Because user's were uploading copyrighted materials to the site, he got convicted but was not found guilty. Because of this, its safe to assume that the owners here are safe from what the users do.
