Port forward WITH application
First let me say I've searched the forums for an answer on my particular issue, and Google, and haven't found out if I can do this. I'm using a Mac to run Transmission (desktop version) and I have the PIA client installed. It all *works* but I don't have a desktop-client-friendly way to automate the port in Transmission.
What I'm curious about is if I start using some kind of shell script to query the API while the client is also configured for port-forwarding; how bad of a practice is this? Should I use a script and disable it in the client?
Is there a script that queries it FROM the client? I figured if it is there to show up in a hover tooltip, then there is at least a chance it can be pulled from that and fed into Transmission on the backend to keep the ports matched.
Your thoughts? Thanks in advance!

In short, if the Mac client works the same as the Linux one, you should be able to grab the port number from a log file. I do exactly this to (automatically) configure my firewall and torrent client
