Why am I not protected?

Hello,

I am hoping someone can answer this relatively simple question.  I signed up for PII and I have been paying $6.95 a month.  When I login it says I am 'not protected' and when I click to 'fix it' it brings back tot he payment plan options.  I don;t get what I am paying for?  When I signed up, it said I Was protected.  I have emailed support but have not gotten an answer.

    You need to go to the download page and install the PIA Client App! Just paying the $ doesn't do anything by itself, doh!
  • I have the same question. The PII website shows my IP address and says I am not protected, but when I launch PII and get connected I will go back and refresh the screen only to find that it still shows my actual IP address and location! Not sure how paying for this service is useful if it doesn't actually anonymize my IP address. 
    I am using the PII app in Windows using the default settings.
