Firestick IP address not being changed by PIA

Hi. I installed PIA on my Firestick using downloader and it has installed grand. The thing is, when I tell it to connect it picks whatever random server that it wants (Usually a UK one) but it doesn't actually hide my IP. Both IP's under 'Original IP' and 'Current IP' stay exactky the same. I have also went to the PIA website and it still lists my ISP and says I'm not connected.

Has anyone ever experienced this and knows how to fix it?

I would also like to be able to select server but that doesn't seem possible. I have even got the android app on my phone to control the Firestick but it doesn't scroll down to the server area, just swipe to connect and disconnect.

Any help would be appreciated.

  • I have the same issue as the above user, anyone have a fix for the above issue?
  • I'm having the same issue but it worked with my firetv but not firestick. I contacted PIA and they said don't offer support yet on here someone from PIA said to contact them. I don't get it.
  • Hi everyone!

The issue has nothing to do with PIA!

You most likely have a 1st generation FireTV Stick in which case no VPN-Service will work!

It has to do with the processor, which is not powerful enough!

I have contacted pia and they said they do NOT support the Fires Stick at this time. I have 3 2nd gen FS...the ones with voice control are the second gen. I have tried the above install link and no luck!

There is absolutely no substantiation  for the  claim that the  processor is not powerful enough in that article which is purely there to promote IP Vanish
