Can I still get DNS changed even behind a VPN?

As someone who was a victim of a targeted attack and not really an expert when it comes to CyberSecurity, I need to know.
- Is it possible for someone to change my dns, get remote access and all that stuff related to DNS hijcking if they know my IP even if said IP is from PIA VPN.
- Hows the security behind the VPN? I ran that GNC test and a lot of ports are open. If an attacker sends whatever attack to those ports, do I get affected.
If so:
- Can I close those ports without having to modify PIAs server config (which is impossible as a user of course).

    Hi @Genju,

    •  It's not possible to change your DNS like that. When you use PIA (make sure to enable DNS leak protection), your DNS cannot be intercepted and modified.
    •  Port scanning tools are typically designed to test open ports on a user's computer. On a computer workstation, exposed open ports are sometimes a cause for concern — for a server, it's perfectly normal to have many ports open in order to allow the relay of internet traffic.

None of the open ports on our servers pose a security threat. Additionally, our datacenters are protected against attacks with powerful adaptive firewalls.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
