pia blocking internet connection

A few days ago I got a new modem, same internet service.  Now Mac will not recognize my modem.  Says it is unavailable.  If I exit from PIA and restart mac, it sometimes will connect, then I can connect PIA.  I submitted a ticket a few days ago and get no answers.

    Agreed cwramsey - this issue is all over various other boards with no solution. Some point to the latest Kaspersky update being incompatible with PIA. It would be good to get a quick fix or workaround.

    This has been a no go on my Mac for several days now. Stops all internet traffic. Is there a fix?
