Hi,

Just installed PIA,

Logged in

I'm trying to "connect" but it doesn't work, always end up "you are disconnected"

Could you help me?

I have the same issue as OP. It’s not a problem with net-tools being missing; 16.04 has net-tools.

The PIA app shows up in the tray, it just doesn’t ever connect when you choose a server.

you probably need to add XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=${XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP/:*/} near the top of run.sh
and check to see if packages libnss3 and libgconf-2-4 are installed
