PIA app glitches - Android 8.1 and battery life

After updating to 8.1 my phone's battery life has tanked and I'm trying to figure out if it's the PIA app that is responsible. When first booting into 8.1 the PIA icon at the top of screen kept glitching in and out of view until i disabled the notification. Is anyone else having problems with their battery life?

We're aware of this issue with Android 8.1, and the devs should have it resolved in the near future. In the meantime, you might try using OpenVPN to see if that provides a stable connection.
