I'm not sure if I put this in the correct category but my PIA says it is connected to a location but when I search up my ip it hasn't changed. I tried different connection ports and reinstalling.
Very simple 4 steps to install? Main thing is to (use default settings) Right-click the downloaded installer file and select “Run as administrator” to start the installation.
Suggest you clear your browser cookies/history (Ccleaner) check again, if same un-install re-boot and try again At top of PIA homepage you should see "You are protected by PIA" in light green
So you uninstalled, then downloaded new "install", then installed by "Right-click the downloaded installer file and select “Run as administrator” to start the installation."
If it runs once, I don't really see a reason for it to not work when reconnecting the second time. Clearly for it to connect once it has to have all the files it needs.
It's possible that after reconnecting, there is a route conflict on the adapter. A debug log could help us seeing exactly what's going on and why your traffic doesn't go through the VPN. Here's how (note, the steps are slightly different than usual):
Reproduce the issue
While still "connected" to the VPN but not working, right click the PIA icon and select "Settings" to open the main settings window. It will tell you to disconnect the VPN in order to change settings: don't.
Press Ctrl+L on your keyboard (despite the message).
Follow the dialogs until you get a debug ID.
Post the debug ID on the forum so that I can look at it.
That will give us your routing table while it's supposed to be connected, which should easily show us why it's not routing in.
