Per app settings not working at all on Samsung Galaxy S5

Hi, I've been using PIA app for my android Samsung Galaxy S5(SM-G900A) running android 4.4.2. I have the option of per app access but it doesn't do anything whether ticked or unticked. If I could have certain apps bypass the VPN this would be the best VPN service/app. I've not been able to find a solution on the internet. Thanks in advance, any help is appreciated.

    That's why it doesn't work! Support for VPN bypassing was only added with Android 5.0 (API level 21) according to the documentation, so it's to be expected that it doesn't do anything on 4.4.2 (API level 19). I have notified the developers about the menu being present on unsupported devices.

    Looking up your phone model, it seems like it us upgradable up to 6.0 (Marshmallow) which should support this. Have you tried updating your phone?
