Menu items are unreadable

I'm using Debian and after installing the manager all of the options when I click the icon in the tray are squares. They work, and I get connected to a VPN. But I'd like to read the text, is there a font package I need to install?

We also have just been told that v76 will work out of the box, so this fix won't be needed next update!
