PIA App won't connect on Android

Got new phone (V20) and installed PIA App.  Added login.
It shows 'Disconnected", and when I try to slide to "Connect", the sliding bar stops halfway and remains at the 50% mark, and remains disconnected.  IP address verifies that PIA App is disconnected.

Have tried:
1) Uninstalling/reinstalling app
2)  Setting the Connection type to TCP
3)  Setting the Connection type to UDP
4) Have tried all ports (1194, 8080, 9201, 53, 443, 110, 80)
5) Contacting Tech Support several times (no reply)

What version of android are you using?

Try connecting with the Vanilla OpenVPN Application: https://helpdesk.privateinternetaccess.com/hc/en-us/articles/223453868-Installing-OpenVPN-PIA-on-Android

I can't seem to find the previous ticket number, but I opened a new one
  • I tried OpenVPN and received this error:
"sorry due to a known bug in this version of android it is not possible to gain permission to a vpn tunnel"

    Suggestions?

It's likely that what the error message you got says is true: if the version of Android you run has a known bug that prevents VPNs from working, then yeah VPNs won't work very well.

Have you checked if there's a system firmware update available for your phone from LG?

+1 for that. We can't really recommend this directly as PIA support (because then people blame us for their bricked phones and whatnot), but I've been running CyanogenMod and now LineageOS since the Android 2.3 days and the experience is just without comparison. Most of the issues we get on Android are manufacturers break or intentionally remove some features from their roms.
