Installed PIA app in VM instance, starting it prevents host machine from connecting
Hey there,
I run an Ubuntu 16.04 box at home on my desk (I'll call this one "parent"). I installed another instance of Ubuntu 16.04 (I'll call this one "child"). After installing the PIA app on the child, I'm unable to connect to the internet on the parent OS. Even after shutting the child VM down, I have to turn the network off and on again to get it to reconnect.
I did turn the kill switch on temporarily, but now it is off. It is also set to not open on boot or autoconnect.
Has anyone encountered this? If you have, were you able to fix it?

What kind of networking have you used for your VM? Host bridge? NAT?
I have several VMs with PIA in them running during the day and never had any issues with it, but I use QEMU with a manually configured bridge.
I was alternating cables and ports between the two systems before I installed PIA, so my assumption is that by clicking on the kill switch I created a setting that somehow disables a specific port when the VM boots. I can't think of any other reason that'd happen.
It shouldn't take too long to recreate the VM, so I'll just go that direction and create a "start point" clone this time before installing any third-party stuff.
