Is this going to happen soon? Been waiting over here, and thought Max-P stated the release would be out last week???
We ended up opening a public beta for now instead: https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/forum/discussion/30113/announcing-the-new-beta-program-for-the-desktop-application

Sorry about that. I unfortunately don't decide, just report what I hear.
  • I still can't this to work. I tried everything. I tried installing the private beta v76 and it still doesn't work
  • Hmmm..., any updates, Max-P?

Haven't heard much yet since the opening of the public beta :/ I think we got a few reports they wanted to address while at it. I think we'll see the release next week possibly but I can't guarantee anything. I guess that's why we don't give official ETAs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'd recommend using the beta in the meantime still. Sorry for the false expectations!

Updated to V77 and still having Ruby Crashes.

    MacPro Mid 2010
    High Sierra 10.13.3

Only way to fix this issue is to restart and not use PIA. Having issues sending email again. The constant captchas with google is maddening. I've had to go through 10 different captchas to use google.
  • @Kdesigns, would you mind sending us a debug log? This sounds like it's likely a different issue since in v76, the crashes prevented installation completely. It'd be very useful to take a closer look at what's happening on your system.

  • v77 so far so good for me. Installed without any problem at all, and is working as intended.
  • Nothing to report here! Installed and runs with no problems. Ruby is driving very well.
  • After having Ruby crashing on me every so often on my 2014 MacBook Air on High Sierra I installed v77. Ruby is still crashing on me every so often. This is unusable.
  • @Flash4ward, the issue in this thread prevented installation completely, so it sounds like you're likely experiencing a different one. Please go ahead and send us a debug log, and I'll be happy to take a look at what's happening when the app crashes.

  • I tried completely uninstalling PIA including the command-line instructions on your website and then re-installed v77.  It's been 2 days and so far I haven't had any Ruby crashes.  If I do I will let you know!
  • Nope.  It happened again.  I can't trust this to maintain a consistent connection anymore.  I submitted a debug log.  DEBUG ID [ 4 2 C 0 9 ]
  • @Flash4ward, your log is quite strange and contained a number of errors neither I or @Max-P have ever seen before. We've forwarded it to the devs to be looked at in more detail.

In the meantime, it's probably best to set up your service through Tunnelblick, since your system seems to have some major compatibility issues with the  PIA application. Tunnelblick will likely throw an error about the use of comp-lzo in our configuration files, but they'll work just fine until OpenVPN 2.5 gets released (and there's no date set for that yet).
  • Took a chance on v77 and so far, working on my 2011 mini and 2015 13" rMBP.  Holding off on the main nMP until other issues with email, not having to do with PIA, are resolved with my ISP.

Found my answer concerning iPV6.  Edited post to delete question.
  • Hi,

Since installing v. 77 I've received the message that "Ruby unexpectedly quit" twice. Both times PIA had quit, leaving me exposed. I'm running it on a late 2014 MacMini with OS 10.12.6
  • @MJL, could you send us a debug log? It sounds like the error you're experiencing is similar to the one @Flash4ward was, so you may also want to migrate to Tunnelblick for the time being.

  • I bit the bullet and finally updated from V74 to V79 over the weekend and the last two mornings I have awoken to my machine (2015 MBP running macOS 10.12.6) with a dialog box that "ruby unexpectedly quit".  I thought you guys had this fixed by now?  A section of the problem report is below.  Looks like I have to go back to version 74 to feel safe my VPN won't be disconnecting overnight leaving me vulnerable.

  • No comment from PIA (or anyone else) on this?  As a followup, I reverted to V74 and no Ruby issues for two days now.  Will this issue get fixed so I can update someday?

Immediately after the recent update to OSX 10.11.4 I am getting the line in quotes below coming up in a onscreen box on every start. I have no idea what it is. Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

  • @matador86, is there any chance you could send in a support ticket with the pasted output of the crash report next time you see this error? Let me know what your ticket number is, and I'll follow up with the devs.
  • I'd like someone send me the link where I could find download libz 1 2 3 dylib files. Thank you very much.
  • Hello apkdodo2,

I am sorry for the inconvenience of the issue. I recommend using the new application if you are not already, or here is a link to the downloads page: https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/pages/downloads - PIA CS TEAM
