PIA blocking soulseek after High Sierra update

After updating to High Sierra, Soulseek and Vox (a music streaming app) don't work while PIA is up. I've read it's not good idea to change the router settings. Must be some configuration thing. Before updating, these apps worked fine and automatically. Can anybody provide a solution with precise steps please?

    Have you tried connecting to a different server? Sometimes IPs from popular gateways will be blocked by certain applications because they deem it easier to block VPNs wholesale than mitigate abuse in other ways.

    Given this is an update to High Sierra, it might also be a good idea to try reinstalling the PIA app as we have many reports that the update somehow breaks things despite it working fine after reinstalling.
