PIA vs Strong VPN Pfsense/DD-WRT/App Netflix/Hulu/Amazon
So i just switched to PIA from Strong VPN for 4-5 years after just being frustrated with getting good speeds and general inconsistency. I set everything up on my Pfsense box and was so happy to see the speeds be near 85% of my regular connection speed, I launch hulu, boom awesome no problems, always iffy on Strong VPN.
Then I start Netflix which always always worked on Strong but was super slow, like 3-4 megs down but always worked. It does not work, then I try amazon, also does not work. No DNS leaks, I check these forums i see a guy saying Netflix has never worked for him in 3 years, awesome.
So my Strong VPN setup worked out like this:
DD-WRT Router - hulu would often not work or be very very slow, netflix would be fine, amazon was hit or miss
Pfsense box - Hulu would not work, netflix would, amazon would, speeds would be quite slow still
Windows App - Everything worked at decent speeds
So for PIA I haven't tried it on my router yet or the app because those are the things I really don't care too much about, but I will test them as well eventually. Pfsense and PIA is the ideal combo for my situation.
So the grass is not greener on the other side apparently, should I switch back to Strong and just deal with the slow speeds or does PIA on occasion work well with everything and I should stick it out?
