“osascript wants to make changes” + no valid signature
In the past day I’ve had several issues installing/using pia that I don’t have on iOS. When I first downloaded the .dmg installer, it said “osascript wants to make changes. Plz enter admin password.” I allowed it but am regretting it since I learned it can be used to script from shell. Then, I got warnings that the signature wasn’t valid and could be changed. Then I had problems with it connecting/reconnecting very fast repeatedly. Finally I tried to uninstall/reinstall but despite there being nothing at top or app in applications it said “pia is still running, close to continue.” Tried to force quit; there was no pia running. So I had to find and delete the .dmg and reboot, that worked but I got the osascript msg again so I decided I’m gonna ask first before I try that again. it works beautifully on iOS..

The osascript stuff is normal. PIA does use a shell script to launch PIA's runtime to finish the installation. I think the installer is signed but the application itself might not.
We could help you troubleshoot the fast connect/disconnect issue if you'd like, but we'll need you to reinstall the app for this as we need to send a debug log from it.
A quite popular alternative that works very well on macOS is to set up PIA with Tunnelblick instead. It does the same as the PIA app, it also uses OpenVPN but is designed by Google and made specifically for macOS.
