Asustor AS1002T NAS setup
Hi All,
I recently purchased an Asustor AS1002T NAS and have been trying to set it up with PIA but up until a few moments ago I was stumped. By searching through this forum and piecing things together I was able to come up with a solution, which I am grateful for, especially as I'm not tech-savvy. For the benefit of others I would like to post it here.
I hope this helps.

- On your Asustor dashboard select Settings > Network > Network interface > Add > 'Create VPN'
- A new window will pop up title 'Add VPN Configuration'. Select OpenVPN and next > General Settings and next. You will then be presented with a series of boxes to fill in which I will now go into detail about
- Name - Fill in with anything
- Server - Use this link https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/pages/network/ to acquire the address of the you'd like to use
- Port - 1198
- Protocol - UDP
- Account & Password - Do not use the password and username you use for you PIA account, instead, use this link https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/pages/client-control-panel to log in and generate a new PPTP/L2TP/SOCKS username and password which you will use in the boxes.
- Certificate - Use this link https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/openvpn/openvpn.zip to download a Certificate Authority file. The file should be 'ca.rsa.2048.crt'.
- Next, click Advanced.
- Cipher - BF-CBC
- Authentication - SHA1
- I ticked the following three boxes 'Enable compression on the VPN link etc' but I believe these are optional depending upon your needs.
I hope this helps.

My asustor doesn't accept an address like that. I assume it needs an Ip address?
