AT&T Fiber Users - What Speeds Are You Getting?

I just recently got gigabit fiber through AT&T.  Speed test through PIA to the nearest server is ~200Mb up and down and 960 up/down without.  P2P upload speeds are all over the place but generally max out around 80Mb. I'm using OpenVPN via pfSense, UDP 1197 with strong encryption. I tried setting up load balancing using multiple connections, but it didn't seem to make much of a difference.

Judging by the huge discrepancy in my upload and download speeds, I do believe that AT&T engages in the practice of throttling VPN connections. When PIA deploys stealth/obfuscation techniques and protocols I'll be interested in studying how the speeds change.
    Obfuscation can't come fast enough.

Please note~ I use the official PIA Application for desktop and mobile devices.

@Max-P, Could you please get the Networking team to take a deep look at the horrendous speeds on the Las Vegas & California servers

  • @OpenVPN Confirmed and reported for Las Vegas! California is fine here, ~75 Mbps on it. Las Vegas definitely looks saturated, there's occasional packet loss and speed varies a lot.
