Bot Detection Software Detects VPN access as a bot

A company called Distil Networks furnishes BOT detection software to various (and growing) sites.  If a VPN is in use (at least it's so with PIA) the software thinks you're a BOT and either blocks access entirely or makes you go through a capcha and/or you have to fill out a form to apply for access.  Here's an example of one such site: https://camelcamelcamel.com/ .  Turning off the VPN allows normal site access.

  • I get to it fine from US-West. I'm not a member of that site though...

  • Interesting.  You're right, Russ.  Tried both US West and US East, no problem.  However Atlanta, which I normally use, caused the rejection.  Somehow the Atlanta server is blacklisted.
  • I was on Autozone today, without VPN, and got that bot message. Not sure what triggered it.
